So I recall there are a few folks here with this problem. The eye doctor, Dr. Iye, pronounced as eee, wants to give me the new Eylea HD which supposedly lasts four months so no eye shot for four months. I was going three months after I started eating green beans, Libby French Cut and drinking the juice out of the can. Seriously. Then I switched to broccoli for the cancer and the doctor had me back on two month recall and said I had a little fluid back in my eye. So I wonder what issues this will create for me. Anyone getting this? Can you see the next day? I have to drive the next day to colonoscopy consult. --173.61.xxx.xxx |

Just want to say sorry you are going through this. My mom had macular degeneration, but she was older, wasn’t driving anymore anyway.
Its interesting that you’ve noticed changes based on foods you eat. My husband has some kidney issues and was experiencing more pain lately. Realized he had been drinking lots of cola ( not a good idea anyway) so he stopped cola. Within two days, pain was gone.
I hope you find the right balance. --172.59.xx.x |

I don't know your answer but as to your next day driving, doesn't your area have some type organization that assists senior citizens getting to and from medical appointments? --98.237.xxx.xx |

Busy, interesting about your husband's discovery. Soda has phosphoric acid in it that causes calcium to be pulled right out of peoples' bones to neutralize the acid as the stomach fights the acid. I think they add it to keep the carbonation. Seem to recall that gas dissolves more easily in an acid. So I have a cancer return and had radiation. Before the radiation, if I ate something sweet I could feel the cancer start to be "active" there. Cancer uses sugars to survive. Nicole there are services but usually attached to the medical care place and the eye doctor doesn't have that. There is one for the hospital where I will be getting some chemo and I will use that. The one attached to the other hospital is $50 a month and one of their drivers just crashed the van. They didn't do much right for me which is why I go to another hospital. --173.61.xxx.xxx |

"Eye"ve been an eye tech/photographer for 41 years and our office has been doing injections for A.R.M.D. -- age related macular degeneration for about 20-25 years and I have photographed A.R.M.D. patients before and after treatment for that time, at least 20,000 eyeballs. A few facts for you and your "wet" A.R.M.D.
There are many injectables for your A.R.M.D. Eylea HD is one of them and your Dr. would know which one would be for you. In our office, Avastin is our first choice followed by Beovue and Eylea. Every injection has risks, so the lower the number of injections lowers the odds of these risks.
Diet -- doesn't really matter for the eyes. For diabetes and weight loss it does. We recommend folks take a mult-vitamin -- it doesn't matter the brand -- for people over 50 years old. Our doc goes to Cosco and gets the cheap, generic multi-vitamins.
Smoking -- DO NOT SMOKE!
That's it, good luck!

If you have a smartphone then download the uber app. It's much easier to use than a cab and cheaper too. You put in the address you want to be delivered to, it verifies your pickup address from the GPS in the phone, gives you a cost for the ride and allows you to pay with credit/debit cards. Then it tells you the make/model/color of the car and the license plate so that you know it is the legit vehicle before you get in.
We've used it all over the world and always had good results. --209.205.xxx.xx |
