Housing is not a right if they abuse that right. What the reality is that vacancy rates are really low or not at all where rental housing providers do not have accept those are in eviction merry go round where they find they are out the private sector rental housing market. In the province it can 8 months to a year in some cases to evict for non payment of rent where there is exponentail decline in the lower end of the rental housing as rental housing providers are leaving rental housing where houses, townhouses and condominiums are sold to become owner occupied which are out the lower rental housing forever. The provincial government does not want to fix the problem. For tenants who get evicted what they find is owned by very corporations which is really expensive where they run credit checks. So for problem tenants there housing as a last resort which is (community housing formally called the Housing Authority where no credit checks are done where once evicted then out for life. If want rental housing must pay rent along with no illegal acts or disturbing the peace and enjoyment of other tenants. Also removing or disconnecting a smoke, carbon monoxide alarm is a serious safety violation. Image the frustration of your job being "helping people with resources" but the people haven't helped themselves! Social workers, police, etc. How frustrating!
