Americans detained & charged due to ammunition "accidentally" left their travel bags - found when they were in Turks & Caicos.

HOW did they leave USA with them undetected?!

Really make you feel secure in US airports, huh? (NOT!)

What are the TSA agents doing?

Really dumb of them to have it when flying internationally--not up to security to take care of you where you land.

Word of advice: If you are driving into Canada, make sure that you don't have any ammo undeclared. They take it pretty serious. I always go thru my vehicle really well before traveling across the border now. Got detained once many years ago for a piece of medical equipment not declared ( just for a little bit- but it made me be extra vigilant now) --76.138.xxx.xxx

I walked in as I do at my county building and saw a metal detector. I asked the officer why it was there. Just always is. I went back, took off my not allowed equipment and walked back. It was a long walk by the way. Then I get there and beep.

Oh crap, I forgot to remove the spare ammo I had. I told him, he asked if I was LEO. Nope, just a concerned citizen.

Walked back to the truck yet again and then went in to do my business.

Anyone who has any serious security experience will tell you that checkpoints like the TSA security screening at the airport are good as a deterrent and moderate to poor in detection. In most security analysis models the credit given for probability of detection in screening is around 25%, that's why in places that security is critical you end up going through 3-4 layers of security screening to get to a higher probability of detection. --209.205.xxx.xx

How do I KNOW you are not a threat NE? Because YOU SAY so?

When I was a kid,I never heard of a school being shot up,..anywhere. Now its almost weekly despite in many school systems that have done prevented measures add that to ones in big crowds and even an occasional church.

You often hear how "normal" This shooter person was by his friends and neighbors.

I remember the All in the family segment when Archie tried to bring forward the idea that every one on a plane should be issued a gun,..to protect a bad gun with a gun.

You can say here that you have never been a problem or a threat,..well,.you can say that, but I don't really know that.

Yes there are good rules and laws and bad one but I also remember when smoking was allowed on a plane,.then they passed a rule that there was a smoking isle and a non smoking isle 2-3 feet away,..very logical,..and for sure that worked well as that smoked stayed on that side,. plus you are at 35,000 feet with little fires in an enclosed area with long time to land somewhere.

What's the old saying your right to swing your fist ends where another man's nose begins.
