I just got back from a weekend road trip.

Since travel is a benefit of property management and the convention is coming up what driving apps does everyone use?

I use Waze for directions and to learn anything the CB would have reported 40 years earlier

BTW - I was comparing and contrasting my travels to Amsterdam in Netherlands to Holland, Michigan. Both places have lots of tulips and good party districts. Both Window shopping and coffee shops were much different in the original Holland. Dutch Village was a huge disappointment

Except I can compare places with the wife and not start a fight.

I just load android auto up and use google maps. I run it thru the computer first to see if there are any questions before I let the truck take over.

Will look into Waze and see if it will benefit me. --107.147.xx.xx

I write and review on Trip Advisor. No app needed. But I used my Marriott credit card and travel app often to book rooms. --172.59.xx.xxx

If I ever travel far, I like the CB radio. I doubt the WAZE app tells you were the bears are. I don't mean the furry ones either. --76.129.xxx.xx

Seems that you can track positions of police cars with the app as well as Google maps.

As long as other people play along.

Interesting. --107.147.xx.xx

My experience with Waze is that it works great on interstates and major highways. Not so well when you're off the beaten path. On one trip, it cost me an hour vs. Google maps. BTW, Google maps also reports the same road hazards that Waze does, although Waze may be a bit more robust and loud about it. With Google you get the knowledge it gains regarding traffic patterns from all (or at least most) Android users, not just people using a particular app.

Other travel apps I use:

GasBuddy

Tripadvisor as plenty mentioned

Airline/Hotel/Rideshare apps for those I frequent

Parking apps

CityMapper can be good in some large cities

If applicable, I will install the local public transit app if I'm visiting a big city with public transit.

While you were in Holland, I hope you made it down to South Haven to visit Sherman's Dairy Bar. If not, put it on your list for next time! And if you're there during their open season, work in a tour with Saugatuck Dune Rides. --98.174.xxx.xxx

Google translate. Easy to read the menu when it's its displayed in English.

A browser to type 'Events in Fort Worth this weekend' so I can find which bands are playing at which local establishment so I can do some boot scootin with my sweetie. Complete with reviews so I know what to expect. --209.205.xxx.xx
