It was supposed to be a South Park episode about hiring folks from the Home Depot parking lots...let me see if I can post a better link or a way to search. --173.28.xx.xxx |

Once upon a time in high school I believed Votec was for those stoners in school - you know the ones that took that bus half way thru the day so they could smoke while waiting for it.
I soon realized that at age 18 and 19 these folks didn't just have jobs but instead had careers. Now as for the dope smoking, I am sure some of them partook (or should I say on Par for toking), but most of them were just normal joe's out there.
School brain washed so many folks that they had to go to college. I saw this - I left for the military. About eight years into the military I went to college, and I was mature enough at that point to see VOTEC was alright. My undergrad was in Workforce Education and Development. I am glad I waited and grew up before hand though

I had the same opinions, Ray. VoTech was for the stoners and the kids who got in trouble in class for not paying attention...
Not. --173.28.xx.xxx |

I never took a shop class besides the half year they required in middle school. Think they called it industrial arts while I was there.
Then I spent the majority of my life working in the field. I had no want, need or desire to learn how to run a saw or read a tape back then.
Could have given me a step up when I was getting started. Maybe I wouldn't have spent so much time digging holes or hauling jobsite trash. --107.147.xx.xx |
