Homeowners Told They Will Be Arrested If They Turn Off Electricity, Water As Squatters Take Over
The woke city of New York is being overrun by rampant crime, illegal immigrants, and now squatters thanks to a law that turns them into tenants after 30 days.
New York City homeowners are being pushed to financial limits that allow squatters to live rent-free. At the same time, the owners are forced to keep paying electricity and maintenance bills for the apartments.
Several homeowners told CBS that they would be “arrested instantly” if they were to change the locks, evict the squatters, or turn off necessities such as hot water. They are forced to pay for the upkeep of the homes while squatters, many of whom are illegal immigrants, get to live in them for free . .. .

Some states decided that criminal activity was going to end by ending illegal drugs and allowing police to arrest squatters who break into homes. if a vehicle is broken into police will be involved. Those states those laws need to taken to supreme courts so private property has to be protected. In the meantime the doors and windows, balcony doors need to reinforced to prevent break ins. Criminal activity needs to be addressed. So far Florida and Georgia have those laws in place. I’ve had utility companies ask me if the unit is currently occupied when switching utilities back and forth. Made the mistake once of telling them it was occupied when I wanted the power off for whatever reason. From now on the answer is “Nope, it’s not occupied”, if I need a utility off. --24.152.xxx.xx |
