State Specific Question About: CALIFORNIA (CA)

Although I live in NY I have a condo in Palm Springs Ca. I would like to convert the casita studio 400 sq feet to a year long rental so it will cover the taxes and hoa . Ive seen some pics and easy to add a small fridge and microwave but my dilemma is the ac and heat. I dont want to mount a wall unit bc I inquired and the electric panel is on the other side of the duplex building , quite a run and installation cost.

Does anyone know if it is possible to set up a thermostat in the studio ? From what I can see all the ducts would be blowing the air thru the whole building anyway ??? Thanks for any solutions --71.186.xxx.xxx

A mini split is good choice in HVAC today, only need to run a 220line to the wall where the unit mounts --184.59.xxx.xx
