So we have had a few people win a billion dollars in the lottery, of course we know thats before taxes ...and we have some guys like Bezos who is said to be worth 200 billion and Musk 198 billion,..
Its hard to wrap ones head around some of these numbers, but maybe this may put it in some perspective.
A million seconds equal about 11 days and 9 hours.
A billion seconds is about 31 years and 12 days,
A billion one dollar bills placed end to end would go nearly 4 times around the world at the equator,..
A trillion seconds is about ,..31,700 years 9 months and 7 days
Our national debt is 34.5 trillion and growing fast,

In Canada lottery winnings are not taxed where you keep 100 per cent. It is common for some win big on the lottery to be broke in three years where back to going back to work. The tax accountant told some go through a inheritance in six months where that should have invested then take out when retire where living off CCP and OAS is around $1,500 per month is really low. My husband is a retired shrink. Over fifty plus years he's treated royalty, the very, very wealthy, as well as the rest of us "regular" people. (He doesn't tell me anything, never has, except a movie review made by an unidentified patient. Or maybe a brief funny story told to him by a patient, again, no identifiers.)
Guess what, billionaires live differently than we do, most of us don't have butlers or a couple of helicopters and have to figure out who gets to use the jet on Tuesday. But they a human beings with all the highs and lows of normal life that we have.
It took our kids encouraging us to try to get through Succession because my husband thought it was too much like work. He had some issues with it, but we loved it. --71.228.xx.xxx |
