Follow-up to Ray from PA's previous post.

I read an article that really helped me understand this phenomenon. It is published in the magazine that Pacific Legal Foundation sends out, I've included a link to the magazine below. This is one of the non-profits that was involved in taking the moratorium to the Supreme court. They are a big proponent of property rights, one that I support financially.

I encourage you to spend a few minutes reading the article, it explains the oppressor-oppressed framework that has been prominent the last few years. In short, if you are a landlord you are an oppressor no matter any other socio, ethnicity, or economic or other fact. By definition, the framework pits groups of people against each other rather than looking at the individual. As these concepts are incorporated into new laws, I expect you will see even more turmoil. Being knowledgeable about the framework should help us more clearly see it and challenge it.

A few things. I suggest folks read up up on red China and what happened to those landlords. Itís amazing what politicians can get the masses to do. If you think itís not possible just look back at the scam Demic. As far as this being turmoil, this stuff is being done on purpose. Why, Iím not sure yet. But I donít know how much I longer this real estate ride is actually going to last for most of us. I donít see this course being corrected. I also gave financially to the Pacific legal foundation when they escalated the scam Demic moratorium up to the Supreme Court. But when you have justices that donít know what a woman is, how much can you trust the decision making capabilities of those people either. OK, off my soapbox. --174.249.xx.xxx

Here through a lot measures the rental housing industry lost most of lower cost rentals through the rent free for all along with eviction that can take up to year to evict. The rent control guideline is less then annual operating costs that most industry experience. The secondary rental housing market which consisted of houses, townhouses and condominiums sold out to become owner occupied which is out rental housing market forever. Apartments above stores were converted to commercial which once were lower rent rentals. Owners of smaller buildings sold to very large corporations who kicked then renovated where rents are twice to double to what the previous owners charged. So in the end where does socialism work never. In the province of Alberta it is like the Texas in Canada. Where no rent control allowed to charge a cleaning and damage deposit along with balanced landlord and tenant act. In Alberta they do not pay provincial tax of 7 per cent which lowers costs for everyone. There are incentives to convert existing structures to rentals. Once was in Los Angeles where drove down a street where there was 10 blocks of homeless people. A lot of money that was thrown in non profit went to pay large salaries to individuals which did not absolutely nothing to solve the homeless problem. For example there is enough money in the provincial treasury in Ontario to completely buy out all the rental housing. Universal medical care takes up 55 per cent of the provincial budget where the federal pays the rest. The saying goes a private operator it is there money not other peoples money where look for efficiencies. --207.236.xxx.xxx
