Has anyone invented a toilet seat that is made to attach to a 5 gallon plastic bucket? Since I removed the only toilet from my current rehab house, my rehab crew is now peeing into a 5 gallon plastic Lowes bucket which I provided for them. In addition, some of my crew members are female and they do not mind using a separate 5 gallon bucket either, but having a toilet seat would make life a little more comfortable for them.
Any suggestions? --71.207.xxx.xx |

I've seen some posts on the facebook (haha) and they've taken the big pool noodles and make a slit in them and then put them around the rim of the bucket.
Just a thought... I haven't done it myself but it might work. --69.201.xx.xxx |

The great outdoors?
Have you ever been camping?
I have one for camping. Take the lid to your bucket, cut a big hole in the middle, cut the "locking" part off from the edge of the lid so that it easily removes from the bucket, screw a toilet seat onto the bucket lid, and put a plastic bag in the bucket (if you want to).
Now, which is worse, the toilet you removed or the 5 gallon bucket? --76.129.xxx.xx |

Eye roll here ... we use the standard 5 gallon bucket and a cheap Dollar General toilet seat. You can't "plunk" your tush down and you do have to watch your balance because it's just sitting on top not attached but works for us ... oldest and youngest granddaughters are slowly coming around to the actual outhouse... middle ones not on board yet. --98.237.xxx.xx |

Roy,
There is also a toilet ring that attaches to the trailer hitch on your truck. Hang a bag under it.
With a little care and caution a Lowes bag can be stretched across an opening.
And we all have plenty of those bags!

Thanks for the all of the replies here. I am so tempted to try out Jonny's (no pun intended) split pool noodle idea first. In my backyard shed/outhouse, I will have " his" and "hers" buckets. There will be a shovel outside the door. Whoever poops, must dig their own hole.
Yes, there are gas stations nearby but when you pay people by the hour, time is of the essence here. If anyone needs a gas station, that person will not get hired again.

These days if a man pees in the backyard of his own house, he could get arrested for indecent exposure and possibly get charged and forced to register as a sex offender.

Pool noodle works fine.
On an similar subject, white water rafters on our more scenic rivers are required to take everything out with them...including poo.
Since rafting became popular after WWII, they discovered the rocket box...those big metal rectangular boxes that hold ammo. They also have waterproof lids.
Perfect for packing out that poo...except squatting on the top leaves grooves in your backside... therefore the common name for this object is "the groover".
Yes, I have used one many times. Fancy ones have a toilet lid. --69.80.xx.xx |

Since you mentioned it - I have to ask. Since there is a male and female 5 gal buckets is it because the guys can't hit a five gal bucket?
Common on now - hunters. You can drop an eight point buck from 300 yards using a 30-30 but miss a five gal bucket at one foot using a very short stemmed pea shooter. (please note I used the correct Pea) --24.101.xxx.xxx |

Homer,
I have been buying fixer uppers and doing rehabs since 2006. I bought over 25 houses and have rehabbed every one of them. Learning resourcefulness in rehabs is a key element and making do with less than perfect solutions is one reason I have become successful in this business. Most of the people on my rehab crew who have been with me for years enjoy working for me because I pay them promptly and treat them with respect. And that respect extends all the way to outhouse too. --71.207.xxx.xx |

Just remembered...
Order a Port O Let. I brought one to a occupied house when the bath floor rotted thru. Had it a total of 2 weeks during the rebuild period with delays, permits, inspections, etc. Called around and found an inexpensive one. Just a few bucks a day.
They pump it out and sanitize it each week.
Worth it to keep your female workers happy.
