ZERO TOELERANCE on lates. Don't let them get behind. This res was already in deep financial troubles. Colorado res was $9000 behind. Finally evicted Feb 6. This doesn't always happen but the longer we let back rent linger the worse things get. This Owner got a big surprise at set out..

Today's headline: Woman’s corpse and 30 cremated remains found after ex-funeral home owner gets evicted from house

-The body was in the hearse for 2 years, parked in the driveway.

Lesson: check your rentals for hearses.

Brad, you just never know what a tenant might leave behind. Back in the late 1970's, I had a tenant "forget" to take his pal "Mort" with him. This tenant was an artist of sorts & Mort was a full-size real adult male skeleton that he had acquired from a buddy at a medical school in the Boston area. Evidently, he would use arrange Mort in different poses to use as a model in the art classes that he taught. --96.233.xxx.xx

Hoo, boy!

That vacancy is going to last a while! Between all the police investigations and nobody wanting to live in that "creepy" place afterwards.

I feel really sorry for the family members of the deceased, when they eventually may find out it was their loved ones. Can you even use DNA on cremains, or have a way to ID them? What a mess all around --68.229.xxx.xxx

I would only suspect the hearse if it had been leaking oil down the driveway. --184.59.xxx.xx

So in that eviction, do you need a judge or priest at the house? --24.101.xxx.xxx

Here that hearse wouldnt have even been checked,i would just be told by the sheriff deputy to get rid of it myself,i would call my scrap guy he would pay me cash for the vehicle, load it without checking it and sell it at the scrap yard without anyone checking it,might be in china to be turned into a kia before anyone found the body --71.217.xx.xxx

Brad, your right about not letting anyone get behind. Not just in rent either. Seems that when a person gets behind in any bill, they usually don't catch up. I believe most people just ignore it. Not so much because they bury their head in the sand in hopes it will go away, but more because they don't care. So yes, it is better to never let them get behind. --76.129.xxx.xx

Yet another reason I am donating my body to science.

Once they find out the mess they got it will be too late.

I don't want to take up more valuable real estate once gone. My mother and my dog are both in a can on a shelf. Not the same can, nor the same shelf. --107.147.xx.xx

zero, why do people keep ashes? That would creep me out. Just take them to a place they would have liked to visit. I don't understand the concept of graves either, at least in terms of paying for them. --76.129.xxx.xx

DJ,

There is a group of people who would pay extra to live there.

Maybe a macabre themed Airbnb. Ghost houses are popular.

NO idea why people keep the ashes in general.

Wife kept the dog so they can be together when she gets cremated.

Dad kept Mom because he planned to spread the ashes in the Black Hills. Then my sister went off the deep edge and an entire family outing is impossible. Maybe when I get my FREEDOM I will take him there to do it.

I have never liked the idea of cemeteries, even before I got into RE. Lots of under utilized farm land if nothing else. --107.147.xx.xx
