I have been bidding on the same Fannie Mae property on Auction dot com website for three weeks now. By week two I established, I am the only bidder other than the bank who bids about 10 or 15 minutes after I do.
With yesterday being a holiday, I wasn't sure if I wanted to change things up and make the first bid on day one of the three day session. The other times I bid on day two of the three days. So this morning, well before banking hours, I made the first bid. I am doing it a bit earlier than normal to see if its AI or an actual human doing this bidding.
I'll keep you posted

Hmmmm been 30 minutes and they haven't up the bid yet. There might actually be a person on the other end after all --24.101.xxx.xxx |

I quit using auction.com a number of years ago because their processes seem a little scammy. --24.152.xxx.xx |

In my experience, they’ll automatically bid on the bank’s behalf until they hit the reserve. --172.56.xxx.xxx |

Interesting suspicion. Anything is possible these days - not that it would really matter.
I've purchases some through them, but I waited until near the end. If the bids were already over my limit, I just didn't bother.
Once, a couple days after the auction was over, they contacted me and asked if I still wanted it at my last bid.
It's my daughter's house now.
You just never know when they will change what $$ they "need". --68.229.xxx.xxx |

about 920 in the morning they bid the place up to 35. 47 is my magic number so I'll try it again, this is the fourth week bidding on this place. --24.101.xxx.xxx |

I have bid probably six or seven times on one house close to me. They will send emails about the min price being dropped but I still get outbid by a few Ks. Then it still never sells.
I am at the point where I will bid 25k each time just so it is there. Maybe they will get bored and sell it for that. Been a couple weeks since I tried tho. Hope someone else didn't get it for that.
I did bid maybe 60k on a house I didn't walk thru in a different town. Then I drove by and did my own walk thru. Garage door was open... oops. I was never happier than when someone else outbid me. It was a flip house and man was it rough.
They actually called, left a VM saying that one more bid could get the place.
I have noticed that most of the places they have are not showing up in the local MLS, which should be good, but still have yet to win on one. --107.147.xx.xx |

I like how you tested that to see as AI is used a whole lot now in a lot of different things. I wonder if AI ever sleeps or has a downtime for upgrades. I have read a few things about the troubles AI has though. --73.190.xxx.xxx |

Zero, this was exactly what they were doing with the zombie 4 plex we just bought for the last at least 5 yrs.
I finally won it on xome. DH found out that I was bidding against a major LL in town who owns the burnt out commercial bldg next door and wants to turn that bldg into mini storage lockers.
They had to keep lowering the reserve through a series of several auctions since it was abandoned since 2017.

Last one I bought on auction dot com was a "2 BR 1 BA" SF. So I was bidding land value only per the tax assessment.
Well couple weeks of the bank (BOA) out bidding me ... I finally did a B&E cutting the banks pad lock off the back door. WALLA there's was a THiRD BR AND SECOND BATH! I replaced the banks lock with my own to keep it safe.
Bought that one at the reserve (20 k more). --198.168.xx.xxx |

Ken,
Last foreclosure I picked up the house I bought for for $4,800. I still have squatters that I need to deal with, but I don't mind writing out that check to the attorney. I offered cash for keys and they balked. I let them know that if they feel better having the county judge boot them out they need to understand this will be the same person ordering Children and Youth Service to figure out why its okay to be housing insecure and have kids. --24.101.xxx.xxx |
