What do you pay for trash service?
I have one property in a town that doesn't provide municipal service. I've been using a large national company there for 20 years. I won't say who it is, but they share a color scheme with John Deere. My bill has risen in each of the last four quarters, from $160 per quarter a year ago to $222 per quarter on the most recent bill.
I called today to ask them to price match a competitor who is almost 1/3 the price, which they've done for many years now - but you have to call and threaten to cancel. Today, however, they would not price match, so I actually did cancel and make the switch.

I used to rent a 4 yard dumpster but everyone changed there rules and said i couldnt put household trash and construction debris in the same dumpster so a partner and i bought a 15 yard dumpster and when it is full a friend of my partner who owns a dumpster company dumps it for the cost of the dump plus $100.We dump it sometimes twice a month between flip debris, tenants, personal garbage etc.It paid for itself in 2 years --74.77.xx.xx |

My findings: all the waste disposal companies stink (figuratively and literally)
The quality of the work bounces up and down like a yo yo.
My home is $32.95 plus tax monthly. one toter weekly pickup
They glommed two of my duplexes together. Each residence gets 2 toters (total of 4 toters) weekly pickup monthly $126.88 plus tax Now that was back in October so it's probably more than that now.

I pay $157 per quarter for weekly pick-up on one 90 gallon toter.
Not the green company but a blue one that bought out a local place years back.
Looked into getting a small dumpster so I could use it for job trash but it wasn't cost effective especially since the wife didn't want it sitting at our house. --107.147.xx.xx |

In my experience the best haulers are local companies. I see this repeated on sites like Nextdoor. I had a great one and it was purchased by Wasted Management. They billed quarterly and raised the rate three quarters in a row. How stupid do they think I am? For my own residence, they would sometimes miss pickups and a couple times I received recorded messages apologizing for missed pickups right after they picked up. Just completely have their head up their as*. I switched to a different local hauler and they are much cheaper and better. --172.56.xx.xxx |

If the town or county provides the can and pickup, the tenant gets the can and pickup. Over on the beach it's a provided service.
Here in this county, they have free "transfer stations" but you have to haul your own trash there. So the tenants that live in this County either pay for their own private service or haul their own trash, up to them. I don't know what everyone does. Some have mentioned they haul a bag to work every day and just dispose of it there!
We had an inherited dumpster back in the day at one of our quadplexes that sat on a concrete pad at the curb - the town did empty it - but the neighbors and any passerby saw it as free trash disposal. We replaced it with the four giant cans the town provides when you have a water meter installed - we have four meters, we get four cans.
People just don't have a clue about dumpsters. I was visiting my sister once and she ran over and threw some trash in their neighbor's construction dumpster (remodeling.) I said WHAT ARE YOU DOING??? She was shocked that would cost them money by filling the dumpster faster and possibly beyond the capacity contracted for...gave her and her husband a big lecture that day. --173.28.xx.xxx |

If the city is charging for service and collecting from all households, they charge about $105/quarter here. Most of the townships around here are running between are between 130-150/ quarter. I am told the difference is that everyone is collected in the city where not everyone uses the same service in the townships.
I am thinking it is time for you to shop around for a new provider. --24.101.xxx.xxx |
