I have a section 8 tenant. The rent amount is approved by housing authority. Each year I propose a rent increase, they review it and approve part of the increase. I think their approved amount is way below market price. Can I terminate the lease because of this justification. And ask the tenant to move out? Thanks

You are allows allowed to place your property into phase maintenance and overhaul it.
Your republic has some specific rules about income sources. If the income source (S-8) doesn't want to keep the rents up to market rents, it would be time for you to refuse to make the repairs during the inspection so that section 8 refuses to renewal. --24.101.xxx.xxx |

I think that once you have a lease you are in it for the duration of said lease. You have to give lots of notice for non-renewal. Unless the tenant causes violations that would terminate the lease you agreed to the price so you are stuck with it until the lease ends.
If you asked for more money and they said no then don't renew the lease. When I still had S8 the timing was always off. The last one I had went to monthly so it was easier to get rid of her, although the housing authority made me jump thru even more hoops for that.
So happy I have no S8 now. --107.147.xx.xxx |

Also this is what happened for me in Indiana and it was a few years back.
Your mileage will vary. --107.147.xx.xxx |
