How hard and what would it take to change your primary residence? I live in 2 houses pretty equally and I want to get a loan to fix up a roof which is about 25K (50x 50 flat membrane roof) . I would rather get it on one properly and the rate is lower on a primary residence,..Is there an easy way to change that? Currently it has been deemed on another property. --73.4.xxx.xx |

The most widely accepted way to establish residency is to change your drivers license, voter registration, and establish utilities in your name at the new property. You would then use that address going forward on all documents such as loan apps, your next tax return, etc. --209.205.xxx.xx |

Around here, you would also go to the appraisal district and change over your homestead exemption to your preferred address. You'd also update your auto insurance to reflect that your vehicles stay at the new address, your home insurance to reflect that it's your primary, update it on your tax filings and your bank accounts, as well as the driver's license/voter registration updates. --137.118.xx.xxx |
