Best over the counter: RAID or COMBAT Large Bug bait traps. Kills Bugs Dead. If tenants ever complain about bugs (this is NC, we have bugs) I send them a starter pack from Amazon.

Add an Ozone machine if you can get the place empty for a few days.

Add DE if you've got time to puff it on properly. --50.82.xxx.xxx

I've been getting my roach treatment products from Do MY Own Pest Control.

//www.domyown.com/roaches-c-2.html

I rotate products so they don't buildup an immunity to any specific one. If you're not sure which products to use, you can live chat with them directly from their web site.

I have found that especially in a multi unless the tenants all make an effort to cooperate that it's an uphill battle to get them under control. --72.93.xxx.xx

Here's a tip from the hood .... kill the heat and let the place go cold. Roaches hate the cold.

Learned that one from a tenant who would self treat as needed. --198.168.xx.xxx

Three steps to take them out is to eliminate elements required for survival which are a warm place to live and breed, water and food. Chalk all the cracks in baseboards, kitchen cupboards then fill any holes with can of spray foam. Eliminate water source where nothing survives without water after 7 days where put bleach in the defrost pan of fridge then insulate pipes so no sweat. Next clean behind fridge and stove along clean out any crumbs. Buy Max force gel or combat gel then place around perimeter of room. Roaches only travel around perimeter of room. Spraying they hide then come back where the gel after two weeks they die. Buy some sticky traps then place next to wall where once in they can not get out. A severe roach infestation use a shop vac. Integrated pest control is the elements are eliminated so nothing survives. Once a roach eats gel they go back to where the other roaches then die where the one dead will kill up to 45 roaches. Any excrement is a food source as well. In the winter time putting anything the roaches will run. The sticky traps become very effective once all the cracks and holes are sealed up. Without food the gel will start to work. --74.220.xxx.xxx

In home inspection prior to issuing keys, these are messy critters, the scent of bleach makes them react by reproducing at a ferocious rate, the female can lay 100,000eggs in a 24 hr period, they survive best in heat so put the drops of gel on upper window and door trim where they perch looking for something below that moves,they eat one another and the smell of the blood is an awful smell detectable by many rodents that come for the picnic. Boric acid freshly ground is helpful under appliances and cabinets - using a shampoo bottle whoosh this into floor trim strips and don't use bleach or you will waste 3-4 weeks of fighting the reproductive cycle - many of us have experienced the explosion of new roaches and wondered how when you just cleaned the kitchen floor. --184.59.xxx.xx

After you treat for them -- tell tenants not to bring in used furniture they find on the curb and not to have cardboard boxes from the stores in the house. These all can carry roaches and their eggs. --172.58.xxx.xxx

If they are german roaches then the only thing that will really work is the bait. I use the syringe tubes from Lowes and put small dabs under counter tops, inside cabinets, on top/side of doorjamb's, on the back of appliances or anywhere else the dogs won't get to.

Other than that I get the gallon jug of spectracide with the sprayer and go all along the baseboard and behind appliances. --209.205.xxx.xx

Had problems with cockroaches in apartment. buildings where integrated pest control over a few weeks cleared up the roach population. With a place to live, water or food then Max Force or Combat gel becomes effective. Any poison they hide then come back where the elements are essential for survival. Most will be dead in around seven days without water. A few dabs of gel around perimeter of rooms along sticky traps. One time in a sticky trap the trap was filled with eggs where threw in garbage bin. Taking the stove outside then removing back cover where with a air compressor clean out along cleaning fridge. Next to wall on the floor the sticky trap will work where will remove roaches. No matter how much gel is applied as long is there is food source the roaches will not gel. One time went in to a rental unit where there was lot of roaches on the wall where brought in a shop vac then immediately reduced the roach population then took shop vac outside where filled lower part with water. --74.220.xxx.xxx

I had a massive, massive german roach infestation in a single family home. Hindsight, the infestation was so severe, I should have tented the place and cooked them out. Lots of videos online showing roaches, but nothing was as bad as what I was dealing with.

Handled it myself with DIY pest control. I used one of their insecticides (don't remember which, but just search for roaches on their site) to knock down the visible soldiers,Advion gel bait to kill those behind the walls, etc., and gentrol-an insect growth regulator to impede reproduction. I treated aggressively-repeating applications once a week. After about a month, I was down to only seeing one or two roaches here and there. --75.162.xx.xxx

Same as above, all good advice. I've used Combat gel, and any other I can find, alternating them. Usually leave roach baits under vanities and kitchen cabinets. Dollar stores usually have several brands. Raid roach spray for behind fridges and range. --47.133.xxx.xxx

Use the professional syringe tubes and bait stations from the store do not spray at the same time. Remove switch plates and dust w de or boric acid along w other areas mentioned . Sweep up loose powder as it is not good for the lungs. --172.59.xxx.xxx
