I've been having some luck here recently hiring folks from Thumbtack. I found someone to install a pre-hung door and was able to get a flooring installer. I'm going to try both of them out on smaller projects to see how it goes.

Good luck! I hired a guy from Thumbtack to hang and finish some drywall where we'd removed the soffit in a bathroom. It took him 3 hours to hang four pieces of drywall--and we were paying him by the hour. At that point I thanked him for his help and told him we'd do the rest ourselves.
If I understand correctly, the contractors pay for referrals. In today's tight labor market, I find myself wondering what contractor worth his salt would be paying to acquire customers.... --104.230.xxx.xxx |
