Big 220 window unit a few years old now and starts but seems slow. Was going to go pick up a new one today but favorite appliance store doesn't have any. Home Depot has none at local store except Midea, LG Danby and one Frigidaire listed but not at local store and no free delivery to local store. Is there a problem that anyone is aware of with getting these things? I have a backup Mitsubishi but it makes mold grow on the furniture so I have not used it for two years. I am calling the installer to come out and check it and start it for me. Their own user manual says not to use it for more than four hours at a time or mold will occur. Nice eh? I will take the plastic off the existing 220 today and start it up. Will be 80s 90s by Friday. Has been very unseasonable chilly here lately. --173.61.xxx.xxx

I'm starting to see them in our big box stores. I don't know if they are what you are looking for but I just noticed boxes and boxes of window units. Maybe they are late getting to the stores? I'm in the Midwest. --172.59.xxx.xx

Replace the air filter to regain air flow - slow flow is how you get moisture build up. When the motors dont start try a replacement capacitor - it will have 2 specs on it like 5/25, for outdoor split units this capacitor is a common replacement item - 1 nearby lightning strike is all it takes to ruin the capacitor - warranty is 3 minutes --184.59.xxx.xx

We had to special order ours from lowes. approx 11K BTU for the NY "cooling assistance" program. Had to be through the wall for an apt complex with sleeves. --64.246.xxx.xx

No one answered so I left a message. So unusual at that store as they are always open. Family business passed from gran to grand daughter. Wish I could show you this place. You can google Mrs. G's appliances Lawrenceville NJ

Another vote for capacitor. You can get a replacement at the local HVAC wholesaler. It may be a different shape or size, but as long as the dual rating is the same it's OK. Ex: 5/25 mFD.
