Lots of fast food workers will be replaced with robots! The higher the minimum wage, the quicker the robots will take the jobs! Read somewhere that the new AI Chat is now being used to take orders from a major fast food chain at the drive through... --68.7.xx.xxx

In the province of Ontario minimum wage will be $16.55 Cdn. per hour where each province sets the level for minimum wage.

The cost for a litre of gasoline can be a high 1.60 where filling up 50 to 120 litres can be expensive. Higher taxes along with higher costs for housing, electricity. Where Canadians have less disposable income. There is universal medical care here. Next federal election there is a possibility of the Progressive Conservatives winning where the carbon tax is going to be scrapped. For a small business higher costs will be pasted on to consumers or the business will go bankrupt. Automation is really expensive for lower volumes. --74.220.xxx.xxx

That's what inflation does. Your money has much less value and everything you buy requires more dollars to pay for it.

The current administration is crazy mad to spend as much money as they can get their hands on, tax, beg, or borrow. I'm not predicting any end to this inflation. It is only going to get worse. --76.178.xxx.xxx

Robots yes, but we have already experienced simpler elimination workers.

Self checkouts and self ordering on their screen or my phone.

***Find what people want and let them pay you for it***

Locally, it's $7.15 to have DoorDash deliver your $10 bag of MacD...and they are busy! Customer pays. No expense or HR issues for MacD's.

Can you imagine the hootin and hollerin if MacD added $7.17 to the menu prices!

I have shifted much our maintenance responsibilities/budget to the residents in the form of a small rent reduction. Fewer requests and fewer workers needed.

I'll explain at the Convention.

As an American, we will typically spend 28% of what we earn on housing. In higher cost areas that might be higher , in lower cost areas, a bit less. I don't make these averages up. This is just part of that Standard of Living that we have and grown accustomed to.

So if you raise min wage up, what happens to the rental rates in the class D places? What impact does that have on class C places?

Andrew, where I understand you concern about yourself not getting the $15 an hour that is today's Mass Min wage. What I would be focusing at is that 25% increase in rents on the bottom rung of housing that is ahead.

Where it is true, you are missing out on that $10 for that two hour turn over job, you also would be gaining $250 a month in normal rent increases.

I just wish the elected officials understood that diluting dollars doesn't help the folks that they are targeting. It actually helps those with hedges against inflation - us Land lords. --24.101.xxx.xxx

So, let's see, businesses can pay $20/hour plus SS plus worker's comp and unemployment comp for an entitled American who is gonna spend half their time on their phone-------OR-----pay an illegal alien $15/hour cash money for someone that is gonna bust their @ss all day. (at no risk unless the fed gov't suddenly starts actually enforcing the laws that were passed under the Reagan "comprehensive immigration reform." --73.141.xxx.xxx
