Last fall the scrap yard that I use was paying $.53 per pound for aluminum. Depending upon the type of aluminum I've found over the last 15 years that the market price for scrap to be $.48 - $.58 a pound. --72.93.xxx.xx |

I do not think they would take it at all with the glass. So easy to remove the glass panels (the frame around each panel maybe a little longer) simply by loosening the clips and just cut the screen. If the screen is aluminum too maybe you can leave it in.

I give mine to my scrapper. He is happy to take the time to separate everything. Same with old AC units.
Then he helps me out by getting rid of troublesome items.
About the only thing I will keep now is copper. Wire and tube that I don't have to dismantle to get to.
Used to keep it all. Then I realized how many times I was moving it around until I got enough to make it worth the trip, or until I had the time to actually go to the scrap place.
The big turning point was when I had no more room for my spare items because I had $15 or $20 worth of scrap in the way. I split the profits with my guy and he took a literal truckload stacked high of copper, brass and aluminum. My part was around $1500. But I had been moving the stuff and tripping over it for years in some places.
Now the main areas that I had it piled up are full of shelves with equipment and supplies that I make or save more money on.
One little barrel for wire and such is all I allow myself now. --107.147.xx.xxx |
