Anything worth looking at for my own home? Good tax write offs? I know about $7.5k for buying an electric car. Can I get a credit for insulating my home better? Installing a more efficient AC unit?

7500 for electric car may go away with MaCarthy budget act. He wants to eliminate all energy credits. At least that's the way I read the bill.
The last budget act was one sentence long and this new one is over 300 pages. Every pet project has been listed.
But republicans won't roll back the QBID deduction. --67.184.xxx.xxx |

Two years ago there was a 50% tax CREDIT for energy efficiency projects so roll of insulation was half off. I am not sure if that is still going on or not --24.101.xxx.xxx |

I have seen ads on Fb from an HVAC company promoting big tax breaks if you convert to an electric heat pump. --73.141.xxx.xxx |

We have the latest generation heat pumps and believe me when they go into defrost cycle it gets COLD.
And your electric bill goes sky high! Tax breaks not worth it.

Tenants pay electric in my place and a lot of these guilt ridden snowflakes will pay more if they can brag that they produce no carbon emissions.
I like electric because in Phila gas is lienable against the property even if it is the tenant's account. Electric has no effect on the landlord; it's between them and the tenant. --73.141.xxx.xxx |

Here the governments will give with one hand then tax more will end up paying more in taxes then the cost of upgrades. The programs are using the garbage fiberglass insulation that sags then mold develops where every time a wall is broken out the fiberglass insulation will have mold where the insulation sags then allows heat transfer. In the house have breaking out walls along doing ceilings with the two DIY can insulation where first fiberglass is removed then spray foam where no air movement or mold. Installing vents on rafters where going to install thin plywood sheets then the attic will close in temperature below. Installing a high efficiency split heat pump with low temperature will limited if the house or building is poorly insulated. Suppose the US completely electrified the railway lines then used high speed rail for passenger and freight then put everything is steel containers where long distance trucks would be off the roads where less traffic and pollution. Electric EV is not the only answer that solves climate change. --74.220.xxx.xxx |
