your welcome. As I tell my kids and employees-- I started working things mechanical in 1961 at 11. The summer of 61 I cleaned pans in my fathers bakery from May 20 to Sept 7-- memorial day to labor day. (no days off) Got paid 20.00 a week and could keep 5. The rest went into the bank to pay my HS tuition (200.00). 1962 at 12 I was allowed to work nights from 7pm to finish at 9 or 10am. Weekends and holidays it was till noon in the bakery. 1964 my father brought a rental house 1bd 1 ba with detached garage. AKA a bungalow. No heat no AC.
I've got a horde of knowledge about things mechanical and can make baked goods from Kaiser rolls, butter cookies, all the way to German (real German) pound cake) After the bakery closed I went to work as a labor for the park service on fire Island for the summer painting and building boardwalks over sand dunes. Winter worked as an orderly 2nd shift 3 to 11. Also worked general aviation servicing small planes. One winter I worked at Billy Blakes in the pet department in Middle Island LINY.. When I was 16 I got my first car. A 1950 Merc-- flat head 8. Put huge shackles on the back because I didn't look enough like an idiot just driving the "gray Ghost". 16/17 I had a chance to play football on a part scholarship but my school principle and athletic director refused to send my transcripts needed to apply. BTW lettered in 3 sports 3 different years. Saying I was not college material.
Joined the Navy at 17. I worked planes engines and all the systems and sheet metal I could for 40 yrs. In 86 we started buying rentals.
My saying: give me a ballpeen hammer and a screw driver and I can fix anything. I am here willing and able to share my advice.
