Roof 4 going on today. 26 squares. 5 felt, 1 box coil nails 48 ft ridge vent, 1 roll ice and rain, 1 box felt nails with washers, drip edge and 4 decking boards. Supplies 2900.00. Dumpster 375,00 labor gave 2100.00. Gave my man 2500.00 in case decking was excessive. they charge extra for rotted decking. 30.00 a sheet. 100.00 for lunch.
They started at 7am and by 8 had the old roof off and onto the collection sheets around the foundation. 4th house all in just one day.
Here is a statement made from one of the workers I found VERY interesting. Maybe you will also. There are 3 men and 1 women. When i mentioned everyone working so hard he said-- we didn't come here to this country for hand outs.
That got me thinking about those waiting on court-- 2 or 3 yrs down the road. Do we all know these people waiting on green cards can not work without them. Did you all know that. Well they can work but under the table (not paying taxes) 3 years folks-- they are sitting around cause they can't get a work card. WHAT'S wrong with this picture. Some one asked yesterday. why have so much cash around?-- this is exactly why.

morning dumpster is gone. Every thing back in order. New color on roof-- got rid of black and put on a driftwood. Looks amazing. They saw a few pieces of siding bad and did that also. (No charge)
Have 1 roll of felt (which I keep) and 4 squares to return for 120.00. All and all great day. Gave my MMan extra 200.00 cash. --108.239.xx.xx |

my guys will tell you the same thing...they're here to work. period. 30 a sheet is cheap. it's always best to remove the old roof. is ventilation not a thing in your area?. as far as demo onto the ground...oh hell no. off the roof into the dumpster or dump trailer. handle it one x only. and good for you for paying the tradesmen...you paid fairly and they will be there for you since you did so. they will take your call! --75.80.xx.xx |

I was ordered to replace a rental's roof by 5PM Friday March 17th. It's been raining all month and there was no way I could replace a roof in this weather. But the brilliant government city workers with their GED certificate can't read the weather reports so I got fined. --47.147.xxx.xxx |

These crews place super large and super strength tarps around the whole foundation. Then scrape the old roof into the tarps.
They do try to scrape off and throw off as much as they can into the dumpster. The speed they work at is amazing. From 7am to 8am when roof was off-- within 20 minutes they had all the tarpaper down and ice/rain felt in the valleys.
I make the roof guys put in ridge vents on all the roof replacements. --108.239.xx.xx |
