A lot of Louisiana has its roots in French law tradition, rather than English/Spanish law tradition. Definitely go through an attorney at least the first time, to make sure it's handled correctly. You don't want your case to get kicked out due to a technicality. Even in my town, the law says x, but since it's JP court, and the JP judge isn't an attorney/is inexperienced/both, he often uses the wrong fact pattern for his hearings. Your attorney will also know stuff like that, and be able to advise you. --137.118.xx.xxx |

If you have not done an eviction before, I would recommend that you consult an attorney.
I am not sure how many rentals you have but I would recommend that you attend either Jeffery's Landlord boot camp and get you the forms that you need or you attend the boot conference and meet up with someone from LA that can assist you.
Not having a lease in place isn't a good start on the process. Where experience is a great teacher, it is one of the most expensive ways to learn. --24.101.xxx.xxx |
