It's being proposed as part of the Assebly's budget process, KH is not publicly supportive but I bet she'll sign it --77.111.xxx.xxx |

It actually didn't make the proposal for the budget but that doesn't mean they can't slide it in before April 1 or consider the bill outside of the budget.
Reach out to your state lawmakers and Governor H urging them to say NO to "good cause" eviction. --69.201.xx.xxx |

The bill passed the state house, but it isn't law yet. Likely, it will pass at some point, to be closely followed by rent control and soaring prices for rentals as investors and builders move money to more hospitable areas of the country. --184.4.xx.xxx |

It's amazing how many folks, referring to a recent ad I placed, said the reason they were moving was "because the landlord needs to move into the property." Is this the new lingo for "I'm being evicted"? Over the previous 30 years, I heard that maybe 4x. This last 2 months, I've heard it at least 15x already.
Aside from non-payment, or serious breach of contract, what are the other approved ways to end a tenancy? Or are there any? Is there no such thing as "end of term" anymore? If a landlord has a property they intend to rent for only a specific time, maybe to sell it or demolish it, and the tenant pays on time but declines to move - what then?
Also, I know the rules regarding notice with length of tenancy, but when a tenant has a 6-month lease that reverts to a MTM, and stays for over a year, does the notice reflect the amount of time they have occupied the unit, or the length of the current lease? --69.131.xxx.xx |
