Great news again today, I have been pre-approved once more for $500,000 Unsecured Line of Credit - because the Robo-caller told me so.......AGAIN.
What type of robo calls are you getting? Today I am up to about 1.3M in cash. Perhaps I should answer the calls for that much, but this joke is rather old after the first 70 or 80 times

I just block everyone and eventually they stop or at least sold down --74.77.xx.xx
Robo Calls (by Larry [MN]) Posted on: Mar 15, 2023 3:58 PM
I answer all calls (you never know who it is) and if it's a pitch I politely say "no thank you" and hang up. Don't wait for them to respond. This seems to stop a lot of calls.
My mother is driven crazy by calls and she doesn't answer them. But when I look at her caller ID I can see the same PBS station or the local newspaper keeps calling her trying to get ahold of her. They are relentless and I keep telling her to answer, say "no thank you" and hang up. Then they stop. --68.46.xx.xxx

Mostly medicare but occasionally credit cards. This week was a first, wanted to know if I didn't want a walk in tub? I said no, she said "Oh you have one or are you still stepping over a tub?" I said neither and hung up.
I swear she sounded like a former tenant! --216.126.xx.xxx

I won the Nigerian lottery and I didnít even have to buy a ticket. All I have to do is pay the Nigerian income taxes. --99.23.xxx.x

MANY with "apologies from your utility servicer".
newest type is about funeral/burial services from a young, very pleasant, computer named Hannah.
Also Coverage Choice is relentless. A minimum of two calls a day. Can't block it because they are all different numbers with the caller id showing Coverage Choice. A few clicks and a real person comes on the line. --98.237.xxx.xx

Employee Retention Credit calls.
Also get calls from people who specialize in insuring realtors - I let them know that despite the LLC name, I am not agent. --24.101.xxx.xxx
Robo Calls (by myob [GA]) Posted on: Mar 15, 2023 5:32 PM
my son got one of those boat air horns. Always asks them to speak up so they get the phone real close-- then blasts them.
Robo Calls (by DJ [VA]) Posted on: Mar 15, 2023 5:39 PM
myob, that's hilarious!!
I bet that gets you on the do not call list!
I always have loved getting mail that proclaims I have been selected for a credit card, loan, whatever. Yeah - pre-selected to be eligible to apply to see if I might really be approved. Gee, that makes me feel so special / worthy. (NOT!) --68.229.xxx.xxx
Robo Calls (by 6x6 [TN]) Posted on: Mar 15, 2023 7:59 PM
This is were I use Sid's method, all calls go to voice mail. If it is important they will leave a message. Sometimes the robo will leave a message but mostly they don't. Maybe this is more proof that Sid's method works.
I would like a train horn. I wonder witch is louder, train or boat? --98.40.x.xxx
Robo Calls (by Allym [NJ]) Posted on: Mar 15, 2023 9:16 PM
They tell me I'm entitled to more Medicare benefits even though Uncle Joe's people took fifty dollars more out each month than last year and my doctors tell me they are getting less for treating me. Then they want to sell me solar from American Solar Company. I would tell them that solar is Chinese if it was a real person. The latest is funeral insurance on a bright sunny morning. I happen to know I will live to 92 according to a medium I consulted. Mom made it to 94 with my assistance. I also want the "riderless horse" in my funeral procession. I'm not paying someone to save money for me for a funeral and meanwhile take a cut. I will just tape a check to the wall made out to the nearest funeral place but not the one that turned mom's hair purple. --71.188.xx.xxx

I bought a sports whistle from Amazon to reply. Also women should have yacht horn next to bed. Tell neighbor's that you have it for idiots trying to get or in your house. The sound of one is unbelievable. --124.150.xx.xxx
Robo Calls (by Barb [MO]) Posted on: Mar 15, 2023 9:50 PM
Sometimes I answer.. I have an app that plays the noise a dial up modem uses to connect. I play the app and see what happens. --149.76.xxx.xx

I feel left out! I don't get any. But my husband makes up for it with all the Robo calls he gets. Apparently his number was someone else's; the calls are all calling the someone else. So when a woman calls and I answer and his phone cuz he's in the shower, I ask who she is, she asks who I am. And I tell her it doesn't matter who I am, she has the wrong number. --75.11.xx.xx
Robo Calls (by Oregon Woodsmoke [ID]) Posted on: Mar 16, 2023 10:12 AM
All my robo callers are computers, so no use blasting them with an air horn. Mostly the calls are about that auto repair insurance.
I do get live calls from real estate investors trying to buy my properties, and generally I just say no thanks and hang up on them. Occasionally I ask them which property they are interested in and it is always the one I sold last fall. Whomever they are buying their call lists from is cheating them and selling them worthless contacts. --76.178.xxx.xxx

I have a Sentry Call Blocker 3.1 for my landline. This is better than flush toilets and antibiotics. Any caller not on the good list is prompted to enter zero, hang up and call right back. The auto dialer cannot do this and disconnects the call. If a human does this and calls back, you can put that number on the forever block list.
About $80 on Amazon. Easy setup for non computer people. --96.234.xxx.xxx
Robo Calls (by Wilma [PA]) Posted on: Mar 17, 2023 12:07 PM
I have caller ID for the landline, rarely pick it up. But my favorite was the guy who called on a Sunday afternoon "from the IRS", saying that the "cops" would be sent if I did not give him $xxx in gift cards. I just hung up, but later regretted the chance to say, "Really? The IRA? This must be really serious for a government employee to be working on a Sunday!" --96.245.xx.xx
