Are ring doorbell cameras, legal on rental properties if they point to the unit next door. --99.28.xxx.xxx |

I don't see any problem. By their nature, doorbells tend to face other dwellings. I guess if the camera were 5 feet away from someone's window that might be a problem. --100.8.xxx.xxx |

If the placement is in an area accessed by the public, like cameras on coffee shops, department stores and so many others where there is no expectation of privacy, what is the question? You can see on TV the coverage of -ring- cameras gathering photos of front door deliver followed by -porch pirates- making off with packages so often that police departments send a package with a homing device to someone as a test. --76.190.xxx.xxx |

Would it be recording anything that you wouldn’t normally see glancing out the front door? Probably not, so you’re fine. --71.63.xx.xx |
