I didn’t put my watermark in the middle of the photo because I thought it detracts. I won’t make that mistake again. They cropped my photo and have it listed at half the price. Any suggestions besides look and flag for removal every day?

Oh boy, I have had this happen. Yes flag it, report it, screen shot it, look on the listing sight for any contact information to report this. It took about three days for me to stop it. On the real ad I added copy to warn readers. --172.56.xx.xx

Still,

I don't know how to protect people from being scammed with the fake ad, other than try to get it deleted.

I use Visual Watermark. Clean appearance, greyed, and the website puts them in the same place on every photo, not willy nilly and confusing.

Brad, is that the Watermarkly app? When I found that site the app popped up with a different name. Is it easy to navigate and use? --74.93.xxx.xx

If it has the address then put up a note in the front window notifying them the ad is being scammed and how to see the real posting. Most applicants will drive by if the know the address. --209.205.xxx.xx

What MikeA said, I had to do this on my last listing and I even had my pics watermarked in the middle. People just see a price too good to be true and see nothing else. I kept the sign up for a week or so. I had found the fake listing on FB and it had been active for 3 days. I was looking for comps. It was a fake person w no FB history and they had properties all over NY n Texas. I did my best to look up the other addresses and let them know. It took FB a day to remove the profile. --77.111.xxx.xx
