Billing for past month just received and it is a little more than double last month's bill.
Same story with neighbors.
I know that the loonies are trying to manipulate public to stop using natural gas and use electric appliances instead just as they are trying to do the same manipulation with electric vehicles instead of gasoline powered vehicles.
But I wasn't aware they were able to artificially raise the price of natural gas well above the market rate.
Has this been done in other parts of the country or only in California??

From 89 cents per them a few months ago, to $1.56 in December. And now in January it's like $3.50 per therm. As soon as we switch over to electrical heating from natural gas, they will raise those rates due to a new shortage. We can't win.
Having a tri-fuel generator for backup, I went to propane or natural gas. Now I'm back to gasoline because it runs smoother, produces 10% more power for the same price as the once cheaper Natural Gas and Propane. --47.149.xxx.x |

For the first time ever my gas bill was higher than my electric bill - double for less usage compared to 2021. My brother's bill went from $56 (Dec of 2021) to $233 (Dec of 2022). It's crazy! --47.153.xxx.xxx |

Last natural gas bill was more then last year where $17.43 was the carbon tax along with 13 per cent Harmonized Sales tax where without that the natural gas would be around hundred dollars. The federal Liberals if elected propose raising the carbon tax above 5.5 cents per litre to the point where a litre of gasoline will cost 2 dollars per litre where if multiplied by four then approximately eight dollars a Us gallon. The environmental groups say ditch natural gas stoves then buy a expensive induction stove. Tonight it is around -13 degrees Celsius or 13 degrees below freezing where minimum temperature tonight will drop to -16 degrees Celsius. Pickup some more pallets today where will put more free wood in a EPA rated wood stove where no natural gas, no carbon tax or sales tax. Again they want ban wood stoves. It is going to take time to remove all the fiber glass insulation then spray foam all the walls and ceilings along install rafter vents. For those breaking even the Liberals want more hardship where they hope they buy a Tesla along convert everything to electric where during peak times they gas turbine to generate electricity. --68.69.xxx.xxx |

With these big time increases in natural gas this winter, I suppose it's one time your big time Arizona heat would be welcome.
I've been tempted by Arizona to bail out of California but if only the 115 degrees didn't last for so many days when it does show up.

I did two $50,000 plays in Natural Gas wells. That bought a whopping 0.24% of a chain of them pumping out natural gas. In 2022, my 1099 reported that the first one of these paid me over $18,000. This compares to me getting $11,000 the year prior.
Good news ahead on the heating front - the price of gas dropped suddenly from $8 down to under $3. I am looking to stock up on even more gas. --24.101.xxx.xxx |
