FWIW, I see Costco offers a similar 12k unit for $1,449 vs $909 for the HD one I think you're referring to. The Costco one does come pre-charged for DIY, where the HD one is not and needs someone to charge it. Interesting. Thanks. --71.127.xxx.xx |

When compare products then compare efficiency along how system will operate at low temperatures as the temperature gets colder the system will not be able extract heat. A high efficiency split heat pump is like a refrigerator where the coils on refrigerator the heat is extracted. In order for proper install the lines should evacuated to insure completed air tight where left over night to be sure the system there are no leaks before the refrigerant is valves are open where a special equipment is required. View some video on You Tube on how a split high efficiency heat pump is installed or rough in where only contractor has to do final connections then test. Also some high efficiency split heat pumps may require 240 Vac with 20 amp service so check out specifications. Often something sold at a lower price is end of line which has lower efficiency and higher outside temperature to operate in cold climates. Check out amazon and ebay as well. --68.69.xxx.xxx |
