Is there a question here?

If you want the full value, consider hiring a public adjuster. Their job (and their payment) depend on getting you MORE MONEY in your pocket from the insurance company. Do a google search on "insurance public adjuster" with your city name and see what pops up.

Note: if you have an ACV (actual cash value) policy, then depreciation of the house, attachments, and personal property will be less than full replacement. --184.4.xx.xx

i had a fire that damaged 2 units out of 8 in an apartment building. I gave my insurance carrier a bid, as the owner and a licensed contractor. I could cut corners and get it done for $100,000. The insurance carrier said, "We offer you $80,000 because of your deductible and it's a cash offer".

I declined their offer and hired a Public Adjuster, who got me $328,000 instead. And I didn't have to do the work...What a relief. --47.149.xxx.x

I have never heard of an insurance company that will let the owner do the work. Asked about that with my agent and he said no way because too much chance for fraud.

It would be a conflict of interests at the very least. --107.147.xx.xxx
