If you need assistance with fixing your bad credit score and settling your debts, get help from creditmasonrepairs . com. Generally, on a scale of 300-850 a bad credit score is considered to be below 630 for most scoring models. You have a fair credit score if your score is above 630, you can be considered for some loans. If your score is below 630, this will come in between you and lenders which will affect your ability to secure the good deals you need so its important to have an excellent credit score.

There are videos on You Tube on how to improve credit score where in the meantime pay all bills on time or contact credit bureaus for help for information. Having a low credit score can effect insurance rates as well. --68.69.xxx.xxx

So, this is indeed just a spam message, but I disagree with Mike. That's generally NOT the way to go from a bad credit score to a good one. Paying your bills generally doesn't affect your credit score at all unless they go to collections (and even then often little affect).

Credit score is built through having available credit, actively using credit and paying those bills (hopefully paying it in full every month), and so on.

So, I want a refund on your no charge advice. :)

I often wonder if I am doing myself wrong somewhat by always paying my credit card bill in full each month. I wonder if I would credit and make the payment so the high credit used shows up and then I pay it all off. Your thoughts? --24.101.xxx.xxx

Paying it in full does NOT hurt your credit score (contrary to what people use to say/think). I pay mine off every month in full (often more than once per month actually). My score has been 825-835 for over a decade straight. Credit score is primarily about good payment history, low credit usage (i.e. having credit, but not using most of it), and age of credit lines. Then some lower impact for total accounts and hard inquiries.

But, again, no need to have anything "Carry over" from month to month. I pay it off in full regularly and my credit is great.

For some stats for me...

Average age of open accounts: 7 years, 10 months

Total accounts (open and closed): 36

Hard inquiries (last 2 years): 0

Current credit card usage: 0% ($99 of my total $90,900 limit)

Note that the current usage is because I happened to just make a payment before pulling up my data. Depending on when you check during the month, that could be $1-3k. So, up to about 3% usage. --67.209.xxx.xx

john, paying on time is EXACTLY what makes for a good score. late payments are hard hits and keep the lumps in the 600's, at best. charge offs are as well. over utilization is as well. long term open accounts are also important. i groan when i hear dave ramsey tell folks to close accounts.

so the advice stands...pay your bills on time (no lates), don't buy stuff you can't pay for (no charge offs) and don't get in to your eyeballs (over utilization), but i think you just said that. sooner or later the derogatory items get pushed to the back of the line and ALL derogs drop off sooner or later. i have yet to hear from someone who actually tidied up a report except by adopting the discipline that i suspect most landlord here already practice. don't stiff folks. shouldn't have to say it.

like you, i pay the cards off monthly but use the hell out of them and have open lines from as far back as 1986. thank you discover card who gave me a frisbee when i opened that account on campus! i fly on the miles i get on my Cap One card. i may buy some chickens though...i hear they're all the rage and a good alternative to the ones the cartels smuggle over the southern border --75.80.xx.xx

Mike: You said to pay your BILLS on time. If you meant your credit card payment, then I agree. But when you said your BILLS, that is when I disagree. Utility and other bills are not reported as late to credit bureaus -- it is not part of your score unless they go to collections.

THAT is what I was referring to. Again, if you meant paying the credit cards themselves, then sorry for the confusion and I agree with you.

But if they pay their water or electric bill late -- those don't show up on credit reports until collections in most cases. Monthly "bills" just don't show up on those reports.

And, yes, I agree completely on the card bonuses. My wife and I have flown for free on Southwest probably 30 times over the past 10 years -- and I still have over half a million points right now. It's amazing! :)
