Logo elements (by DJ [VA]) Posted on: Oct 5, 2022 12:09 PM

Wondering what y'all think....

I don't want a logo that is just a symbol (like Amazon or Walmart) that is recognized word-wide.

I want one that will be seen locally and tell a person right away what I do & how to contact me if they want to do business.

I also want to use it to look professional - on website, header of documents, advertising etc.

I've uploaded one I've been working on to my picture page, if you want to take a look. Give me your honest feedback, please.

So far, 1 daughter thinks it's terrible - hates the center picture, & says a simple rectangle is the way to go. (I like to stand out & be a bit different : )

Another daughter & a friend say they like it.

Please vote & critique.

Thank you

I see that "NICE" is out of alignment, and can't figure out how to fix it.

Working on it. --68.229.xxx.xxx

Ray - I don't understand what you're getting at.

Do you think the word lease makes it sound like a nicer place?

I do use a monthly rental agreement.

Any other thoughts? --68.229.xxx.xxx

BTW, Ray - I don't have those places anymore. I've moved up to nicer neighborhood, SFH. --68.229.xxx.xxx

Leasing is more upscale than just renting. Your units are absolutely upscale --24.101.xxx.xxx

I think the pic in the center is a little cartoonish...I like the fact that it's a house, but IMO something more like a photo would be better. I'll see if I can post an example on my name if you want to look.

I'm actually ok with the "cartoon" look. I like it.

I'd definitely clean up the text though. Letters are pushed together when they shouldn't. Sizes differ (like you mentioned above on NICE) and so on. Are you manually positioning letters? If so, you should use a tool from a real graphic editing program to do it instead.

Also, I think the URL at the bottom looks bad and hard to read in ALL CAPS like that. Instead, maybe try:

TheNiceHomePeople.net

I think that would look much better. --67.209.xxx.xx

Thank you for your help.

John: YES!! I knew there was something wrong with the web address, but couldn't put my finger on it. Your suggestion is much better.

Do you have an editing program to recommend? --68.229.xxx.xxx

DJ: I personally like the logo and agree with John's approach to only CAP the beginning letters of each word. It lends a friendliness to it, that matches your URL message.

IMO, your logo will be easily recognized as to what you do and be attractive to many.

Your daughter's opinion may have alot to do with her age. I don't know your daughter's age, but one generation sees things alot different than another generation.

Your logo is understated (a compliment) not cartoonish. It looks and reads well. Keep "rent" it is straight forward and reads at a lower grade level than lease. Lease sounds like complicated contracts. Buy, rent sell rolls off the tongue. --24.194.xxx.xx

Logos, by their nature, are a bit cartoonish. Something quick and easy to recognize. A photograph of an actual house takes more time to process. The simplicity of the cartoon is perfect, imo.

I was thinking of making the letter e in lower case on the web address, but, then read John's response. His idea is much better.

Thumbs up! --70.92.xxx.xxx
