How bad is it out there? So bad Americans can't even afford to rent any more, or as Biden would put it: "the strongest economic recovery in recent history."

Translation: Americans can't even afford to rent stuff any more, let alone buy.

You ever see the charges rent a center charges for furniture and appliances? Pretty much double. Really is more like a pay day loan shark than a lay a way plan or financing. Plus if tenants weren't paying rent during covid why would they make all the other payments? I'm betting renters overextended themselves and this is the fallout. --24.194.xxx.xx

Probably nobody is paying their furniture rent.

That has to be a grueling business, I bet all the stuff they repo is covered in beer and stink and dog and bugs.....

Reminds me of the Pandemic when I went to Wal-Mart to look for a bookcase. The entire furniture aisle was bare- actually two of them, cleaned out.

I asked the associate, "What happened to all your furniture?". She shook her head and said, "Stimulus checks came out."

I was like oh ok so we can assume these people aren't paying their unpaid backrent huh.

I do remember thinking it was puzzling how all during the Moratoriums Wal-Mart was packed with shoppers. Meanwhile the corporate media droned on about how America couldn't afford to pay their rent and needed free rent protections to continue, month after month. Seemed like their money was going somewhere!

I keep puzzling over how the economy can be so terrible while at the same time I saw today long lines at Starbucks and Dunkin'; and a lady at the discount club bought her kid a $13 unicorn stick horse that she is nearly too big for already. --98.115.xxx.xxx
