The Pennsylvania Home Assistance Fund was launched this year. It provides well over $45,000 in assistance broken down into a series of different categories for owner occupied homes. Some of these amounts?

Up to $30,000 for delinquent mortgage payments

Up to $8,000 for delinquent utility payments

Up to $8,000 for delinquent taxes

Up to $5,000 for HOA delinquent fees

The total funding for this program statewide is over $360,000,000.

Subject To in Pa just got a great deal harder for the foreseeable future. Income limitations of under $99,000 exist.

$360 million sounds like a lot until you realize that at the maxed out mortgage arrears that only covers 12,000 delinquent payers, and that's assuming that no one else takes a slice.

My guess is a lot will be used up for utilities.

According to the US Census bureau, there are 5.77 million housing units in PA, 69% of which are owner occupied. That is just shy of 4 million owner occupied homes.

12,000 is less than one percent of that.
