I purchased a dozen to test out. They were made with good intentions and work for awhile, that's until they get clogged up. Different models require some work to separate the center post from the strainer/filter to get stuff (like hair) that got stuck to the post and is keeping water from draining.
I had to give several tenants 2 or 3 so they could just replace them and leave the clogged ones for me to clean out.
Again different models have different quarks. Others wise they are a good idea. --47.156.xx.xx |

I love those and put them in every bath sink in my properties.
I really like that they allow you to eliminate the stupid rod that raises and lowers the sink plug. I've never had a problem getting them clean. Some come with a basket, some don't. Those that don't have the basket don't ever need cleaning. --108.201.xx.xx |

Expect them to disappear. Every time Ive used these they vanish with the tenant when they leave. I finally just gave up, let them look at the old rusty drains. Saves me trips to the hardware store. --162.200.xxx.xx |

I don't get it, if you actually use it then you have to poke through the sink water to open it. plus the tub version is a failure in my opinion. that said I bought a faucet recently and had installed it before I realized it came w the pop up drain. I wasn't found to replace the drain, but I had to arrive the brew one wasn't compatible w the rod style. I was not about to take it out, return it and start over. this is in a nicer unit so I didn't want to go w mesh strainer. guess I'll find out how good the Kohler version is. --100.38.xx.xxx |

I have one at my house. I am not fond at all. It traps the gunk like the other pull ups go anyhow.
Plus we never use it unless worried about losing something down the drain.
I put a strainer in the half bath and am happy with it so far. Have a couple in rentals and thought why not.
If I planned to fill the sink up a lot I would use the pull up rod type. Otherwise you are putting your hand in the waste water anyhow. --107.147.xx.xxx |

I put 1/2 dozen of them in tubs. They can come in fine thread and course thread. Sooo much easier than messing with the mechanical stopper. --206.84.xx.xxx |
