Maybe someone posted on this already. Today was the first day we spotted this.
We updated our Z postings today and they were all no charge.
Z did offer the option of a PREMIUM post for a larger fee.
I have noticed Z rolls out programs by area, not nationwide at once.

Brad, I had mentioned in another post a few months ago that I noticed that Zillow was no longer charging a fee for my rental listings. If you look at their site, as of May 2022 Zillow stopped charging for rental listings:

Yes I noticed it in June when posting a vacancy. I did opt for the $29.95 "premium marketing fee" that lasts for 3 months. Rented in 9 days for a very premium price. Just put another vacancy on last week and rented it in 6 days - also for an excellent rental price (sfr, 3/2, $3800/m). In these cases I think the $29.95 for 3 months was worth it. Although I would have spent less with their weekly charge...probably why they switched to this free model with the option of "premium marketing". --73.205.xxx.xx |

A $30 listing fee for "premium" is worth it, a no brainer. If only to make sure you have some advantage over the people NOT paying the fee! --50.4.xxx.x |

I noticed this too recently, but as David says, it makes sense to pay the extra for the premium listing. Back when I was still doing my own listing, Zumper did the same thing. There was a HUGE difference in the number of leads I got from paid premium vs. standard free.
You truly do get what you pay for.
That said...I am now a happy user of Buildium property management software. For a $16 monthly add on fee, I get unlimited premium listings on all of the Zillow network, Zumper, Facebook, Trulia, Hotpads, Apartments.com, and a dozen other sites that all syndicate from Buildium. Worth every penny to get maximum exposure, plus everything is controlled in one space vs multiple sites, logins, updates, etc! I can post 1 or all of my properties with one click, and it shows up on all sites in a few minutes.
$16/month is all I pay as a Buildium customer to get access to all of these sites with one click. I was paying $29.95 for ONE listing that only went to Zillow network.

how much were classified ads back the day? I bet they were more than $9.99/wk that zillow previously charged, or $30 for 3 months --50.4.xxx.x |

Thanks for the update. I’ll have to look and see what it runs locally. I looked the other day, and VERY little was listed on Zillow, while lots was on Zumper. --149.76.xxx.xx |
