yes, I had to put on a lot with two necessary rehabs AND some unforeseen bills of wife being ill,..and since I have several paid off buildings and my own home and good credit,it should be no problem to get a low interest loan on one of them. The problem that her name is on them, and she still is in recovery and staying hundreds of miles away where her specialist Drs are,.and can't physically come back to sign the papers to do this, for a while,.but I think it will be just a matter of ,.. 4-6 months..

So some offers are for as much as 12- 21 months of 0 interest but a friend tells me that many cards,....when she inquired a few years ago, charged a 4% or more fee to transfer the debt,..it doesn't say that in their advertisements,..anyone do this and find one that doesn't require a transfer fee

i did the BT game early . The offers will always be 0% interest for 12-18, but have a 2-4% upfront fee. You can calculate the effective interest rate.

i usually used a business card that didn't report the balance on my personal credit report --50.4.xxx.x

Have you talked with a loan officer at the bank? Don't assume that will be a show stopper until you have had a chance to talk with them. --47.37.xx.xx

Yes. Borrow $5k with a four percentage fee for 12 months cost you $200 and NO PAPERWORK! I love these offers. Just be savvy and pay it off before that 12 month deadline or you'll really get hit with a high interest all the way back to day one. And don't use the card either during this time. Use one offer and many more will come in the mail. Use caution and be savvy and smart. Get caught and it makes more sense to have a tradition paperwork loan with local bank. --172.56.xx.xx

There is a box on EVERY balance transfer offer that comes in the mail that will show the fee. The box looks the same on every offer, as it is required by law. Usually on the second page of the offer. I’m seeing between 3-5 % fees. Way, way back in 2012-2014, There where zero % fees. But, that’s crept up.

I do almost all of my balance transfers online. Now, my husband isn’t on the credit cards I use for my rentals, BUT, I do think either one of us COULD do a balance transfer online with our joint credit cards. If you haven’t ever set up online banking with your credit cards, its easy. You’ll need to create a user name and password. How you keep track of those, I’ll leave up to you, but, you won’t be able to ( nor want to) use the same one for all accounts, as each data processor sets up different requirements.( ie, some don’t allow special characters , some require special characters…)

Sorry you are in a tough space. Hope your wife is doing well. --172.58.xxx.xxx
