DH thought of where we put it while he was in the shower!
We had gotten mail out of our box on the way out of town to our condo. So he stuck it in our medicine bag until we got back. There were some other papers in the bag, and he just completely forgot about it. That's not something we have ever done before. We should have remembered to put it in the bank while we were gone but......

It could have been worse. Years ago my wife accidentally threw a stack of rent checks in the kitchen trash. I had taken it out to the dumpster that night. Next morning we are headed to the bank but can't find the deposit. Finally realized it was in the dumpster in the alley.
We have the big dumpsters, probably 6X8 and about 6 foot tall. I had to get a ladder and jump in and dig through a nasty pile of dirty diapers mixed in with kitchen waste and rose bush clippings and various other nastiness until I got to the correct bag at the bottom of the pile. We had to use a dish rag and some soapy water to clean the chunks off a couple of the checks. After telling the story and apologizing profusely at the bank the teller was laughing profusely as she accepted them and deposited the proceeds into our account. --209.205.xxx.xx |

And then there was the time, nearly 36 years ago, that I put our ATM deposit in the post office's outside mailbox instead of the stamped letter... (we went back to our apartment, took a small plastic box and taped a notice on the outside to look at our note in the inside, then included a SASE and put it in the same mailbox - and the ATM deposit showed up at our P.O. box two days later. Everyone has done it at least once. Like back in the day when 99% had locked thier keys in the car at least once. With the newer cars it is harder to lock your keys in, if at all. --73.230.xxx.xx |
