Has anyone put in a used furnace and how did it work out ?
This furnace was in a 1000 sq ft building and I would use it in a similar house. How did you find the installer and was it worth the trouble.???

I did that for years as we were starting and money was tight.
Only If it is just a few years old and super inexpensive.
Find an independent HVAC person to install it.
Ductwork is the most expensive part of a furnace installation.
Remember to have your accountant write off all the depreciation for the furnace you remove and set up new depreciation based on the age of this replacement furnace.

A furnace has heat exchanger where if the heat exchanger leaks then there is carbon monoxide where it better to buy a new furnace on eBay or amazon where in the Us it is possible to buy a standard efficiency furnace. A lot of contractors will be reluctant to install a used furnace. Can check the heat exchanger with a light where between the combustion and upper part no light. A boiler is different where the heat exchanger has water where the boiler will leak. Here a standard efficiency furnace is no longer sold where will have to buy furnace 96.1 efficiency furnace. The last thing in a rental is to have a furnace break down. Fifteen years or less a furnace will fail. If a gas valve fails then it can be fixed where if the heat exchanger fails it is not worthwhile to fix.I bought a used furnace which was new taken out of house where bought from a contractor where told him he has to install high efficiency furnace as the contractors did not want to install a used furnace. I made sure that gas tag was put on when the furnace was installed for insurance reasons. All the venting was changed to new CVPC venting where the old venting was no longer allowed. --68.69.xxx.xxx |

If you are doing the install it makes sense, otherwise paying for labor 8-900bux to replace a 800bux furnace makes no sense, pouring money into a hot air balloon will have the same effect, unless you glue it in and follow the balloon. --76.190.xxx.xxx |

Yes, I've replaced my central heaters with Used Central Combo Air Conditioning and Heating units.
The way I found used systems was simple. People are always adding rooms onto their homes, over burdening their old heaters-AC systems.
So when they in the process of adding 30-50% more space to their homes, I would approach them about buying their older system.
Instead of spending $5,00 for a new system, I'd offer them $500 and I'll remove and haul it away. Works around 20% of the time.
I was able to first test these older systems before I'd remove them. In most cases there were already upgraded systems. Only 5 to 10 years old. --47.156.xx.xx |
