In Albany New York a judge today struck down the good Clause eviction law but we'll see if that stops New York state from enacting one Statewide --172.58.xxx.xx

To further explain:

An Airbnb user who never intends to leave. Tenants not paying enough rent to keep up buildings. A roommate temporarily renting a room who later decides not to move out.

Under the Legislature’s misleadingly named “Good Cause Eviction” bill, these occupants can all remain in their apartments forever and the property owner has virtually no recourse.

“No Eviction Ever” would be a better name for an absurdly vague, sweeping proposal that would place strict new limits on rent increases and evictions for nearly 1.6 million New York renters.

for more.

Good for this judge, sounds like he has common sense. How can they expect us landlords to survive? Sickening. --172.58.xxx.xx

They love the vagueness of their laws. Not just on the tenant's rights ... I'm talking about all of them.

"Clean Water, Clean Soil, Clean Air" ... well, sure we want that but yikes... what does that mean!? They don't know either... but they write them so vaguely so they can get people all riled up and then when a Judge says "no, that's not the opinion" they get all mad and start yelling and screaming about the judges turning over and going for the "wrong party" or whatever.

I'm glad it was struck down but I'm sure our Governess will figure out a way to stick it to all of us. --69.201.xx.xxx

Yep it's an election year so Whitmer (whitless) 2.0 will no doubt appease tenants by applying "good cause" eviction legislation across the board. --72.231.xxx.xx
