So the town water company is removing the lead based piping from the main to the curbs. Some folks had lead or coated stainless right up to the home. All the ones I have left have copper into the basement thankfully. So meanwhile the water department is putting propylene glycol into the water to stop corrosion of the pipes which are releasing the lead into the water. I have two really great tenants in that duplex and have informed them but I would like to put a whole house water filter in there. They are both using Brita filters now of their own. Does anyone know of one that can pull out propylene glycol and also be easy for me, short and old, to change the filter cartridge. I had one of these at another building and all it required was two shutoffs and unscrewing the top of the filter casing. --108.24.xx.xx |

I have put in several of those 3/4 inline filters, they have a -bypass- handle that you turn 180 degrees and then you can replace the cartridge without much more than a brief splash, what does it take out ?? I opted for a charcoal replacement and often get new right after the change by taking the insert to the store within a few days to get a 4pack and mark the address on each one. --76.190.xxx.xxx |

Thank you. Plumber came to look today and he is going to ask at the supply house which filter will take out lead and propylend glycol which the water dept is using to stop corrosion of the lead pipe. I have copper pipe out to the sidewalk so I won't be spending money on a new service line. --108.24.xx.xx |
