The local postal worker puts RUBBER BANDS around mailboxes of units/houses that are vacant!!! That kind of cheeses me off. I don't need it advertised that my downstairs unit is vacant and so is the SFH I own next door!!

Here they put a clear vinyl envelope under the lid and put a `vacant` tag in it. I really don't like the rubber band which you can see from the street, having to lift the lid isn't bad.

I had a tenant that was in place for a few months and the postal person put "VACANT" on the mailbox and started returning all of the mail.
I knew this because I sent a letter to them and it was returned. I immediately went to the property to see if the tenant happened to move out. They didn't... they just didn't have their mail going there they used a PO Box (and just didn't tell me). The thing is though... I was floored that the post office just listed the property as vacant. It's not like it's out of the way for them to deliver any mail at all anyway as it was a multi unit. What do they think? Local post office puts cards in the mailbox stating it is believed vacant. Tenant can fill out card and then they know.

Rubber band? what are those.....down in the 'Burg they call them "Gum bands"
The mail person is just doing there job, so use that gum band to hold the door flap shut so they know not to place the junk mail inside. --24.101.xxx.xxx |
