How deep do you need to bury schedule 40 pvc under a gravel drive? I know they say 1 foot but I know I have gotten away with less.
How deep under a concrete drive?
NOTE this is for crushing the pipe NOT joint seal breaking.

A problem exist here with gravel driveways - they will require more gravel in the future. A regular dump truck holds 27 ton. Do you really want to short yourself and lug 27 ton of gravel?
I was told that you needed a foot over metal culvert pipe in your driveway. I am not sure about schedule 40 but my gut says it should be deeper --24.101.xxx.xxx |

Are you using it as a drain or as a wire chase?
The pipe itself will take a lot of weight, but the joints will have problems with freeze and thaw. I know you already excluded that.
If used for moving liquids I would go below the frost line and make sure you have the proper grade for drainage. If you are just running wires thru it you could go less depth depending on the amount of traffic you expect to deal with on the drive. --107.147.xx.xxx |
