Sounds like you have no reason to go to court. Landlord has a certain number of days to return security deposit, and, believe me, things show up during that time. Like a water bill that wasn't paid, of cat urine that smells bad when it rains. ( just examples, not saying.)

Did you give landlord your new address to return security deposit, and MORE IMPORTANTLY, did you put in a change of address with the post office? --70.92.xxx.xxx

Let me see if I understand this correctly:

You rented an apartment.

You moved out at the end of the term, leaving it it good condition, so that

You got all your deposit back with a statement of no damage.

Now you want to sue that landlord for something.

WOW!

Be prepared for some other, not-so-nice replies.

This is a landlord site, after all. --68.229.xxx.xxx

my interpretation skills are:

she rented an apartment, gave 30 days notice, she feels there are no damages, received a deposit refund now wants to sue the landlord.

I am guessing deposit was not the full amount. Hence, wanting to sue the landlord.

was 30 days notice sufficient? Was 30 days the "correct" 30 days such as full month or calendar, as the lease and law permits in KS?

Damages are in the eye of the beholder, or rather the landlord.

So many questions. So little time. So few and yet mysteriously jumbled facts/hints/clues. --98.237.xxx.xx

Deb,

We are missing something - how are we suppose to help when we are not even getting all of one side of the story...especially knowing there are two sides of every story --24.101.xxx.xxx
