This past week here in Atlanta (just south actually) I noticed the isles starting to get supplies. Anyone else seeing this? The stock is sitting on palettes in all areas' of the store.

I know baby formula is in short supply and I figure once they pay the shipping fees that h-depot is paying the baby formula will start to ship.

******* - INC has plenty of pallets of formula but they're earmarked for the border arrivals.

Pallets of it heading south reported by twitter poster. The manufacturer, Abbot, had some bacteria found in the plant that matched bacteria that caused the death of several babies, presumably in formula. It's a bacteria that thrives in dry matter. So Abbot stopped production but none was found in any of the product. They started production again but it will be a couple of weeks before it's up to previous levels. --108.24.xx.xx

The bacteria was not related to the formula the investigation found. In one case the bacteria was found in the distilled water found in the home being used to mix it. They didn’t determine where it came from in the second case but the strains found in each case weren’t even the same. Seems like an unnecessary scare with major repercussions. --75.89.xxx.xxx

when that factory was shut down the FDA and white house were questioned in February what the plan was for the interruption. Neither the FDA or White house responded then or now.

They're idiots.

I think if we all equate bad LL's to the current administration it comes down to one thing in my humble opinion: BAD OR NO PLANNING!

Want success-- do some prevent planning. --99.103.xxx.xxx

Costco had plenty of formula when I was there. As for the factory being shut down or stalled get your QC working better and plan better. That is a regulatory action working as it should. --107.77.xxx.xx

Why are there two such very different versions of bacteria/no bacteria. Abbot supposedly shut down on their own because the bacteria was found in the plant. --108.24.xx.xx

The backup box of formula we keep on hand had those lots numbers. But, my daughter's back -up box at her house didn't, so we pitched mine, she shared hers with me. She was able to restock rather quickly. That's relative, as the baby gets very little formula, only if Mama couldn't take/ make time to pump.

Anything baby related gets overblown. But, I admit, I looked at those numbers on the carton, and had worries. But, I worry easily.

But, I had heard , too, that bacteria was found in the plant.

As for other stock, yep, we are noticing shelves looking more full. Unless one shops the grocery store on Sunday evening. Found out organic bananas were delicious, because all the regular bananas are gone by Sunday. And the grandkids have been on banana kicks. Hit Sherwin Williams for paint the other day, salesman mentioned they haven't had certain lines of paint for months, and still none yet. But, we got what we needed. --70.92.xxx.xxx

There was no bacteria in the plant-- it was in the water being used. If you read there was one instance and all used the same water.

Maybe I'm wrong but that's what the article said that I read.

ONE other thing. Is it just me or is ABBOTT Labs into our lives in every aspect? Sure seems that way. If it's bad and needs a fix ABBOTT's there putting their finger in the dyke. --99.103.xxx.xxx

Other than lumber yards & big box stores yesterday was the first time in ages that I've been shopping in regular retail stores like Target or Walmart. I noticed that in every one I visited there were pallets of merchandise next to partially stocked shelves in almost every aisle. I'm sure that it's lack of help that is causing a lot of this problem. --72.93.xxx.xx

We must be at the end of the supply chain here in North Idaho. I'm still seeing a lot of empty shelves. Building supplies and appliances are still in short supply.

There aren't a lot of options about baby formula for the southern border. Human traffickers are bringing in children a dozen or more at a time, without any relatives. Border patrol can't set them back on the streets of Tijuana without any sort of adult and their parents refuse to come and get them. Really, it wouldn't be OK to place them in a holding facility and starve them to death.

I remember clearly when Chinese manufacturers poisoned their own children in China by selling poisoned baby formula. I'm not so keen on the idea of importing formula from foreign countries. --76.178.xxx.xxx

Regarding the baby formula, I have seen mostly empty shelves here - but I'm guessing that is probably due to hoarding, as happened with t.p. in 2020. There wasn't a problem a couple of weeks ago, but because of the incessant "the sky is falling!" media, people went out and grabbed all that they could, is my conjecture.

A new mom in our church can't nurse her new, born immature baby, as the mom is now being treated with chemo for cancer. The people of the church were asked to keep their eyes peeled for the brand and formulation required, and texted a pic of the can label. Many of us had looked without success. On the way home from church today, the H.S. prompted me to take a detour to an off-the-beaten-track pharmacy, where I found three cans! Better yet, the baby's parents lived about 4 minutes away, so I ran it right over - they were astonished, as they had searched that store themselves- and so happy, as their supply was nearly gone.

I felt like the Formula Fairy!

Now if those blasted LVLs would get restocked so that we can complete a joist sistering project in our basement...

Would this be an issue 50 years ago?

I guess milk doesn't work any more? Are cows hurting the environment too much that we outlaw milk or say it isn't healthy.
