For those of you guys that have coin op laundry in your rentals, how much do you charge? --98.235.xx.xxx

Take a trip to the nearest laundromat to see what they’re charging. I’d charge the same because your units would be more convenient. --172.58.xxx.xx

I charge because of the high price of water, sewer fee, gas to heat the water and electricity the following:

Washing machine (with hot water) Between $1.50 and $1.75 per load. And the dryer set on around 22 minutes, $0.50 (fifty cents). Half of the time they will put in $1.00 to get 44 minutes drying time. --47.155.xx.xxx

I use the preset amounts it comes with. I think it’s $1.50/1.75. Much cheaper than laundromat. Less of a big moneymaker and more of a convenience which is a reason to choose the building. --75.67.xxx.xxx

If there are a number of rental units the best option is to go with a commercial front load washing machine and natural gas coin dryer. A front load washing machine uses 40 per cent less water along a less hot water. Natural gas coin dryers cost less to operate. Visit some local coin laundromats then compare prices. Why charge less as the price for gasoline is expensive so they do not have to drive. --68.69.xxx.xxx

My top loading washers are set at $2.00 & the front-loading dryers are also set for $2.00. Between the cost of the utilities, putting something aside for repairs / replacement & paying someone to keep the laundry areas tidy, they basically break even. --72.93.xxx.xx

I'd go to the three closest places and look at their prices. I'd charge .25 or .50 more. They will pay it rather than haul everything to the laundromat. --98.237.xxx.xx

Not sure about it being more convenient to do it in your building. At a laundromat you can do multiple loads at once, wait in a pleasant environment (not some dark basement) and keep an eye on the progress instead of going back upstairs and risking another tenant taking your stuff out and throwing it on the floor. So it depends. --68.46.xx.xxx

Be careful about charging less than the local laundromat or you will have all their friends over doing laundry and if word gets out in the neighborhood, you'll have complete strangers over to do their laundry. --76.178.xxx.xxx

I charged a bit less than the laundromat. The money I was making was from the higher rent I could get due to the presence of the washer/dryer. Carrying stuff to a basement can be harder than carrying stuff to a car outside the door. --108.24.xx.xx

It seemed that people use my driers more than my washers. So you might want to weight that in. I charge $1.75 and $1.00.

The slides on my driers only go to one dollar so I have reducing the heating time to 12 minutes
