Landlording is the not so sexy part of the real estate puzzle. Big fat checks of $50,000 or $100,000 sell courses at conventions not small checks that say February's rent. That is a huge error that investors make - looking for the huge killing instead of the monthly cash flow. Cash flow will carry you through even the lean times.

Jeffery has been a force multiplier for each of our wealth. I am grateful to know the man and call him a friend. He has been a real life example of how to do things right - both professionally but also personally.

I came here in 2004 after our 1st eviction. It has been a life saver. We had just been lucky for the most part. I still make mistakes, but not nearly as many because of this site.

Twenty units were dumped on me when my dad passed. Mom inherited but they were my problem as the people she hired were awful. Tenants were awful. I was downsized in 1993 and was able to step into the mess. A boyfriend showed me the newsletters and I read every one of them. They were enlightening. I bought more of them. There is a special way to manage rentals and I got the flavor of it from the newsletters and started getting things under control. Then General Motors shut down and I had six empties within a few months. That was scary but coming here helped me work through it. We were living on Mom's social security check and I was fixing up the units as they became available. Coming here to read helped me get through it. Thank you Jeffrey. --108.24.xx.xx

In fact, just this week I've been considering not continuing doing the Conventions. And after reading comments from WMH, I'm reminded of the incalculable value our Conventions can have.. All this makes the decision on whether to continue doing the Conventions that much harder...

I am very grateful that you decided - many years ago - to share your land lording experiences with others, to help them (us) be successful, too.

Regarding discontinuing conventions: what is it that makes you question that?

Perhaps some questions posted here could help you gather information pro/con for them.

I know you don't post much here as a landlord & your struggles(we all have them!) - I understand for good reason. But I know many of us here would like to offer YOU support in any way we could. As good as you are, nobody is Superman or has no need of help sometimes.

We all get plenty of advice here to help us make good decisions - why not you, too?

I first met Jeffrey Taylor when he came to speak at our Butler, PA Landlords Association many years ago, perhaps in the late nineties, not sure. I bought his course and still have and use it. Have been to a couple of conventions and also had the honor of meeting his wife. They are both truly wonderful people He has taught me so much and I am truly grateful. I remember him saying the number one thing you are looking for in a tenant is cooperation. That really struck me, that says it all. He is a world class teacher and role model for landlords. There is one and only one Mr. Landlord, Jeffrey Taylor. I've seen him at least a dozen times in person, in Washington, Nashville, Cleveland, Indianapolis, Harrisburg, Richmond and OREIA. One of the times that he spoke at Jim Ingersoll's convention in Richmond, Jeffrey Taylor had spoken in Los Angeles the night before and traveled red eye to speak at Richmond the next day. I attended my first Jeffrey Taylor Mr. Landlord convention many years ago (2006??) in Nashville, TN. At that time, I was new to the real estate/landlord business. My wife and I owned one multi-family property (our first). I found the convention to be very useful as I was learning tips to be successful in the business. I absorbed a lot of good information that I later incorporated into my current practice. Here we are today 16 years later owning two multi-family properties that we accumulated from two 1031 exchanges. I think it is time for me to return to the landlord convention to step up my game as a landlord given so much has changed over the years. I would really like for you to hold the convention this year.
