1099 Help (by Still Learning [NH]) Posted on: Jan 26, 2022 4:55 PM Message:
I am about to do 1099’s. I usually log onto Intuit, input information, efile with IRS, print and mail copies to contractors. With all this new red ink forms, can I still just print onto regular paper the contractor copies? Staples was out of envelopes and had the new forms connected to Adams Tax Forms. Do I need to switch online efile companies to be able to print on these forms? Any information would be helpful! Thank you! --75.67.xxx.xxx |

For the recipient copy, yes it can be printed on plain white paper. Just make sure you print the tax filing instructions separately. I do not know anything about your particular software program so I can't help you there. --100.10.xx.xxx |

I agree with Tonia. If you are going to efile the Government copy...that replaces the need of having to buy red forms and mailing them to the government.
For the Contractor's copy, you may want to check to see if the Intuit program has an option to print the 1099 and directions on one sheet of blank white paper stock. --67.143.xxx.xxx |

Thank you. I was worried I had to somehow print the contractor copy I mail on red ink forms. That makes sense I just print and mail as normal. --75.67.xxx.xxx |

I use Quicken for Rental Properties for my accounting software. I used to hand write out the 1099’s and then I discovered Intuit e file. For under $40, I can log in, input the information and e file with the IRS and print and mail copies to my contractors. I usually have less than 10 each year. --75.67.xxx.xxx |

I used the Adams forms this year as well. I could not import the data from Quickbooks. I had to manually enter the information. Not a big deal because there weren’t too many. Just inconvenient. --68.191.xx.xx |
