One tenant years ago had a ferret. Picture long skinny cat with a rat face. I took care of it for a week when he went to Israel. Yeah. Poor thing was locked in a cage. They find a place where they can poop privately and fill that place up which is why there is a stink. Over the years they probably fill up several places in an apartment. The tenant was the sone of some "nice" people who dumping him in my unit. He had a job which ended at 2 am when he would make trouble. Parents got him out of there after he locked himself out at 2AM and broke the door window to get in had to call ambulance for cuts and police made me come down there at 4AM to clean up the blood. After that, dirty ears, bathing too often, and not keeping their living space and bedding clean are big contributors to ferret smell.
